Baby Album For A Friend

So, eleven years after her first child was born, a friend and co-worker is having a baby. SURPRISE!!!  I can't imagine.  Yowza.  Anyhow, for her shower gift, I made little Madelyn Rose a baby album.  Mommy does not like pink, so this album is a pink-free zone.  Here are pictures of my favorite pages.

I made the branch for the bird sitting there.

I just really really like this paper, lol

For this page, I did some detail cutting, so I could cut the paper down and still have the flowers all around the edge of the paper.

Love these colors!!

I have another little present for Madelyn, but I can't show it until she arrives, just in case Mommy stumbles across my blog.  That would be my luck, lol.

So, one of my goals for this year is to update this poor blog more often and to make the updates something worthy of your time. :)

Stash Diet Challenge!

Howdy!  So, I tried the Stash Diet Challenge over at Your Paper Pantry.  I am SUCH a pokey scrapper, so it's kind of hard for me to scrap challenges.  But, this one is cool.  It's a shopping list challenge.  You take three items off the list, then add three new items.  I took a handmade flower, splatters, and patterned paper by two different manufacturers.

I made a mum (I think!), used alcohol ink for the splatters and paper by DCWV and K&Co.  It's FAR from finished of course, but I kind of like where it's headed.

I Did it! My first Youtube video!!!

Okay, I finally took a deep breath and jumped in with a youtube video.  If I could edit out all the "um's", it would probably only be half as long, lol.  Well, I'm sure I"ll get better at that part of it, but I have definitely got to figure out a better set up for the camera.  That whole video I was standing behind the tripod, reaching across to turn pages.  Since I'm not Inspector Gadget (or Crafter Gadget), that setup would never work with trying to actually create something on camera, lol.

Desktop Calendar

So daughter wanted a calendar and they can't put nails in the walls of the dorm room.  And dorm tape is apparently pitiful, lol.  So I made a calendar for her desk.  Here are a few of my favorite pages:

It was easy peasy.  I just followed Laura Dennison's tutorial on reusing a CD case.  Try it for yourself and have fun!

Happy Halloween!

My daughter is in her last quarter of college, and Halloween is her second favorite holiday, right after Christmas.  She needed a little something to decorate her door for Halloween - right?  Enter Mom and her stash!

A little paper, a little glue, a few embellies, some glow in the dark embossing powder, and this is what we have.  Not bad, huh?  Sadly, the hall lights in her dorm never turn off, so no one will see that the spider web glows in the dark but oh well.  She and I know. ;)

First Mini-Album From Scratch

So, I finally made my first mini-album from scratch.  The pictures aren't the greatest.  I forgot to take pictures before I gave it to my daughter, so these were taken on her cell phone, lol.

My daughter was feeling down in the dumps, so I made it to cheer her up.  It showcases our first ever trip out of the country, to Jamaica.  It's an accordion album made from envelopes, of all things.  And it's easy peasy.  If you want to learn how, go visit Laura Dennison's blog.  I'll give you the link below! :)

The Cover

See how the envelopes fold out to make pages and pockets?  Cool huh?

The decorations on one of the pockets.

Some of the tags pulled out of their pockets.

I hope you like it!  If you want to learn to make one, visit Laura here:

Favorite Christmas Card

I haven't really blogged for my creative side lately.  I've been busy digging and clawing in politics, lol.  I just made this card for a good friend and decided it was time to get back to blogging for fun.  I hope you like the card!
